🚨 Trump Issues Statement Regarding Health of Mitch McConnell…

President Donald Trump said Wednesday he has no idea how Senator Mitch McConnell is doing and hasn’t spoken with the Kentucky Republican since his hospitalization weeks ago.

McConnell, 84, was found unconscious at his Washington home and required CPR before being hospitalized on June 14. His office has released minimal details about his condition since then, stating only that he is receiving “excellent care” and continues to improve.

What Trump Said

Trump told reporters he has had no contact with McConnell and lacks information about the former GOP Senate Majority Leader’s current status. “I have no idea how Sen. Mitch McConnell is doing,” Trump said, according to White House correspondent Libby Dean.

The lack of communication between the president and the senior Kentucky senator underscores broader uncertainty about McConnell’s condition among top Republican officials.

Calls for Transparency

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, sent McConnell a letter Wednesday requesting he provide Kentuckians with a full update on his health. “As public officeholders, we have made a commitment to our constituents to do our best to represent them and to always be transparent,” Beshear wrote.

Beshear added that clear communication about McConnell’s ability to serve is necessary to honor that commitment to constituents.

Confusion Among Republicans

Senator Mike Lee of Utah told reporters that even members of Congress lack information about McConnell’s condition. “Many of us aren’t speaking about Mitch McConnell’s condition because we know nothing about his condition,” Lee posted on social media.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune previously said he had spoken to McConnell and that the senator “sounded good” and wanted to return to work. McConnell’s office last week stated he continues to improve and is working with staff on Kentucky and Senate matters.
