A lip reader has suggested a possible ‘command’ which Kanye West gave to red carpet staff just moments before Bianca Censori dropped her coat to bare all.
By now you’re probably more than aware of the stunt which the artist formerly known as Kanye West and his wife Censori decided to pull at the Grammys on Sunday.
During their red carpet walk, the Aussie model became ‘Bianca Censored’ after she removed her fur coat and revealed her sheer dress.
Now a sheer dress at an awards red carpet isn’t anything revolutionary, but Censori‘s choice to pair the outfit with an obvious lack of underwear certainly was.
Take a look at the heavily pixelated moment below to refresh your memory.

A lip reader has since weighed in on the viral moment, shedding light on a possible ‘command’ which Ye gave to photographers and red carpet staff just moments before the big reveal.
After analysing West’s interactions with staff as the couple were preparing for photos, a lip reader told The Sun that the rapper appeared to say: “Does that make sense, push that out of the way…that person right there.”
The expert went on to add that they believed that West’s manoeuvring of staff was in order to make sure there was unobstructed camera attention on the moment.
The comments back up claims from lip reader Nicola Hickling, who told The Mirror the rapper appeared to be directing Censori throughout the moment.
Hickling stated that West told his wife ‘you’re making a scene now’ as they arrived on the red carpet and prepared to pose for photographers.
“Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense,” he appeared to say, before adding: “Drop it behind you and then turn, I got you.”

“Alright, let’s go,” she claimed Censori said, as the coat was dropped.
The couple then exited the event after walking the red carpet – they weren’t kicked out, contrary to initial reports – and likely spent the rest of the evening watching the reactions to the moment pour in from around the world.
Ye has since been revelling in the attention the dress stunt has received, sharing a (now deleted) post to his Instagram which revealed Censori’s dress had been more popular on Google Trends, which reveals what terms are trending around the world, than the 2025 Grammys winners.
Meanwhile it has since been confirmed that Censori is unlikely to face any legal consequence for the risky outfit, despite initial fears the model could find herself in serious trouble for indecent exposure.
Los Angeles-based lawyer Andrea Oguntula, told Page Six: “While Ms. Censori’s outfit undoubtedly pushed the envelope, a charge of indecent exposure in California requires willful public exposure of one’s genitals with the specific intent to offend or sexually arouse.”
“It’s theoretically possible, but unlikely she’ll face any criminal prosecution for this incident,” she added.
Meanwhile, LAPD sources told TMZ they wouldn’t be taking any action since no complaints were made to police about Censori’s outfit. On top of this, the Grammys are a private event at which West was an invited guest.

A lip reader has said they know what Kanye West said to his wife Bianca Censori as she dropped her coat on the red carpet at the Grammys to reveal almost everything.
While on the red carpet, the couple spoke for a bit before she dropped her black feather coat, resulting in a lot of pictures of Censori that needed censoring.
It turns out the dress she was wearing was pretty much see-through, which in this writer’s opinion is basically cheating in the world of fashion.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Kanye, 47, praised the dress (if one can call it that), as a ‘Custom Couture Grammy dress for the most beautiful ever’.
“My love, my best friend and my wife,” he wrote of his 30-year-old wife, who he’d tied the knot with in 2022.

According to The Mirror, lip reader Nicola Hickling reckons she knows what the couple were saying to each other in the moments leading up to the stunt.
She said that she saw Kanye telling his wife ‘you’re making a scene now’ as they arrived on the red carpet and pictures of them started being taken as she nodded back to him.
The lip reader said that the couple then seemed to co-ordinate the reveal of the dress, suggesting that Kanye told his wife: “Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense.”
After Censori nodded again, Hickling said that Kanye told her ‘drop it behind you and then turn, I got you’, which prompted the dress reveal as she told her husband ‘alright, let’s go’.

Contrary to some claims that they had been kicked out of the Grammys for showing up uninvited, it seems as though the couple left of their own volition, and they did make an appearance at an afterparty.
It also seems that Censori had taken the time to change in between appearances.
Whether he’s deciding what socks to wear that day or thinking up bizarre outfit ideas for his wife, every fashion move Kanye West makes is calculated.
So it’s only natural that fans are keen to find out the inspiration behind Bianca Censori’s barely-there dress at the 2025 Grammys last night (2 February).
The Australian model, 30, dramatically dropped the black feather coat she was donning on the red carpet to reveal an extremely sheer get-up.
Her transparent attire obviously set tongues wagging, especially as West looked pretty understated in a monochrome rig out which he simply paired with sunglasses.
The YZY mogul, 47, shared an Instagram post shortly after the red carpet stunt, explaining that Censori’s couture mini-dress was custom-made for her.

Censori’s dress did fit like a glove, to be fair – but what on earth was the idea behind it?
Well, for starts, it seemed to mimic ex-Playboy model Rita G, who starred in her husband’s 2008 music video.
In the accompanying visuals for the track ‘Flashing Lights’, she hops out of a Ford Mustang Bullitt in the middle of the desert while wearing a wig, fur coat and sunglasses.
She then tosses her clothing to the side and strips down to her lingerie, in a similar fashion to how Censori disrobed herself on the red carpet.
But there is also another theory floating around.
The couple supposedly recreated the artwork for Vultures 1 on the red carpet (Instagram/Kanye West)
Supposedly, Censori’s fashion choice alluded to the original artwork for West’s Vultures 1 album cover.
For those who haven’t seen, it features a nearly-naked Censori with her back to the camera.
But the model was still more covered up than she was on the red carpet, as she at least had thigh-high black boots on and a bit of sheer fabric to sort of obscure her backside.
West, meanwhile, is once again seen wearing all black – but this time, he’s also hiding his face behind a black mask.
Given the fact that they mimicked the positioning, outfit choices and the colour scheme of the album cover at the Grammys, it seems as though the couple were trying to recreate it.
According to Page Six, a source claims this is the reason why Censori strutted down the red carpet in next to nothing.
Her husband was nominated for Best Rap Song at the awards show for his track ‘Carnival’.
But after causing a scandal on the red carpet, the pair are said to have promptly left the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
West would have walked away empty handed anyway, as Kendrick Lamar won the coveted category for his song ‘Not Like Us’.
