Classic Reuben Sandwich Recipe
Enjoy the savory and tangy flavors of a traditional Reuben sandwich, a deli favorite that combines corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese for a truly hearty meal.
Ingredients:
Rye bread
Corned beef, thinly sliced
Swiss cheese
Sauerkraut, drained
Thousand Island dressing
Butter, for grilling
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Have all your ingredients ready: slice the corned beef if not already done, drain the sauerkraut to remove excess moisture, and slice the Swiss cheese.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Spread Thousand Island dressing on two slices of rye bread.
On one slice of bread, layer a generous amount of corned beef, followed by sauerkraut, and top with slices of Swiss cheese.
Place the second slice of bread on top, dressing side down.
Grill the Sandwich:
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Butter the outer sides of each slice of bread. Place the sandwich in the skillet.
Grill the sandwich until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Press down slightly with a spatula to ensure even grilling.
Serve:
Once grilled to perfection, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it rest for a minute.
Cut the sandwich in half and serve hot.
