The highly anticipated ceremony, held on Hollywood Boulevard, celebrated the Israeli actress’s contributions to the film industry.
Gal Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony faced unexpected delays on Tuesday, March 18. Despite a disruption, the event continued as planned, marking a milestone moment in Gadot’s career.
Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony faced hiccups when pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside. Tensions flared as the protesters from both sides arrived just before the event began, carrying signs and chanting.
Their presence led to a brief disruption before the event could proceed. Despite the area being tented off, the demonstration caused a 15-minute delay, with chants continuing throughout the ceremony. Law enforcement was called in after a pro-Palestinian protester took an Israeli flag.
Gadot, best known for her role as “Wonder Woman,” then received her star in a ceremony hosted by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President Steve Nissen.
She was joined by notable figures, including “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins, “Fast & Furious” co-star Vin Diesel, and actress Shira Haas, who all praised her career achievements.
The actress shared in their excitement with her speech reflecting this joy. She said amidst cheers, “I’m just a girl from a town in Israel.” Gadot expressed her disbelief at the moment, admitting she never imagined becoming an actress, let alone receiving such an honor.
She emphasized that the star holds a deeper meaning for her than any award, as it is something she can share with the world. “This star will remind me that with hard work, passion, and a little faith, anything is possible,” she said, adding that it will remain long after she is gone.
Gadot’s friend, Vin Diesel also took the stage to celebrate the actress, making it clear his speech wasn’t about her career or achievements.
“How can I talk only two minutes about this angel Gal? Where would I start? Or how deep would I go?” he said. Instead, Diesel focused on their personal bond, calling her his “family member,” drawing cheers from the crowd.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also had positive things to say about the recipient of their 2,804th star. Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer shared, “Being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a testament to Gadot’s incredible talent, dedication, and impact on the entertainment industry.”
Martinez added, “It is a recognition of her hard work and contributions to the world of entertainment that will forever be immortalized on Hollywood’s iconic sidewalk. Gal Gadot is well deserving of this honor.”
Gadot has established herself as one of Hollywood’s most captivating and in-demand stars. Beyond acting, she and her husband, Jaron Varsano, run their production company, Pilot Wave, where they are developing multiple projects.
Gadot is also dedicated to philanthropy, supporting organizations such as Alexandria House, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame serves as a tribute to the entertainment industry, celebrating artists and their contributions to film, television, music, and theater.
Managed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for the City of Los Angeles, the selection process involves a committee of industry professionals.
The honor is made possible through sponsorships that cover the cost of the star, the ceremony, and ongoing upkeep. Open to the public, the Walk of Fame remains one of Hollywood’s most iconic landmarks.
