Nutter Butter Pie
Ingredients
To make this delectable Nutter Butter Pie, you will need the following ingredients:
Crust:
25 Nutter Butter cookies, crushed
1/4 cup melted butter
Filling:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks
Topping:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Additional crushed Nutter Butter cookies for garnish
Caramel sauce (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Crust
Crush the Cookies: Place the Nutter Butter cookies in a food processor and pulse until they are finely crushed. Alternatively, you can place the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Mix with Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed cookies and melted butter. Stir until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.
Form the Crust: Press the cookie mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Use the bottom of a measuring cup or a glass to help press the crust evenly.
Chill the Crust: Place the crust in the refrigerator to set while you prepare the filling.
Step 2: Make the Filling
Beat Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the peanut butter and softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Add Sugar and Vanilla: Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the bowl. Beat until well combined and smooth.
Fold in Whipped Cream: Gently fold in the whipped cream until the filling is light and fluffy.
Fill the Crust: Pour the peanut butter filling into the prepared crust, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Step 3: Prepare the Topping
Whip the Cream: In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the heavy whipping cream until it starts to thicken. Add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
Top the Pie: Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the top of the pie. If desired, drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with additional crushed Nutter Butter cookies.
Step 4: Chill and Serve
Chill the Pie: Place the pie in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the filling to set.
Serve: Slice the pie and serve chilled. Enjoy the creamy, peanut buttery goodness with every bite!
Tips for Success
Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure that the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in your filling.
Gentle Folding: When folding the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture, do so gently to maintain the airy texture.
Chilling Time: Allowing the pie to chill thoroughly will help the flavors meld together and the filling to set properly.
